Mission
Golden Home Care supports families in becoming caregivers for their loved ones, helping them provide a healthy environment where all can thrive.

Pediatric Services:
Through the Family HHA Program, family members and friends are encouraged and compensated for offering care to children 21 years of age or younger. This includes children with complex conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, or other medical issues. If you are interested in becoming a trained caregiver for your loved one, contact our team today to begin the process.

Adult Home Care Services
Thanks to the OLTL Programs, you have an opportunity to provide non-medical home care to elders or anyone over 21 years old. Becoming a trained caregiver will give your loved one a sustainable environment that prioritizes their well-being while respecting their independence. To begin or learn more, reach out to our team.

Developmental Services
Supported by the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs, we allow friend and families to become paid caregivers for adults with special needs. Together, we will create a person-centered service plan that ensures the safety and comfort of your loved one. To create a healthy environment that encourages independence and growth, take the next steps in becoming a caregiver.

We are excited to share a new resource that we believe will make a meaningful impact in our community. Through the Shippensburg University Center for Career and Workforce Development, the Office of Workforce Development, in collaboration with the SU Career Center, HACC, and Harrisburg University, we have launched a free series of online, self-paced modules designed to help individuals build strong resumes.

These modules are available in both Spanish and English, ensuring broader accessibility for everyone in our community. This initiative was made possible through a grant from the PA Department of Labor & Industry, and we’re thrilled to offer this valuable resource at no cost.

Here is the link to access the modules: https://workforce.ship.edu/resume-modules/

York Towne House is a pleasant, well maintained and well-planned community with 200 one-bedroom apartments and 1 two-bedroom apartment managed by Community Realty Management.

These apartments are specially designed to meet the needs of individuals 62 years of age and older as well as disabled or handicapped individuals of any age.

York Towne House has features to ensure the living comfort, security and recreational needs of our residents.

Affordable rents are made possible by the federal government through its Department of Housing and Urban Development, Section 8 and tax credit programs.

We have three waiting list categories. If you are 62 years or older, you are placed on the elderly waiting list (wait time is approximately 2 years). These applicants are housed before the other two categories. If you are 50-61 years old and disabled, you will be placed on the near-elderly disabled waiting list (wait time approximately 4 years unless the applicant turns 62 years old in that time frame).

Applicants from the near elderly list will remain on the waiting list until we have exhausted the elderly applicants or when the near elderly applicant turns age 62. At which time they will place on the elderly list according to the original application date. Placement status will be mailed within 30 days on the applicants 62 birth date.

Those applicants who are under 50 years or age and disabled, are placed on the non-elderly disabled waiting list. The regulations require five rental units be housed with persons from the non-elderly disabled waiting list.

All the apartments are one bedroom (maximum occupancy per apartment of 2 people) and the rent is based on the 30% of the household income so every rent is different; all utilities included in the rent.

Do not hesitate to contact us at 717-845-2857 if you have any questions or concerns.

According to the Administration for Community Living, Hispanic seniors aged 65+ are expected to reach 19.9 million by 2060. Historically, Hispanic and Latinx families have played a significant role in caring for their elderly members, fostering a culture of respect for older adults within their communities. Transitioning to an assisted living community for an older family member can be emotionally challenging. Fortunately, a positive trend is emerging in senior living facilities, with an increasing focus on meeting the cultural and linguistic requirements of the Spanish-speaking population.

Caring.com developed a guide to help Hispanic and Latinx seniors and their families learn more about assisted living. You can view it here: https://www.caring.com/senior-living/assisted-living/guide-for-hispanic-latinx-seniors/
